Toltrazuril For Horses
Toltrazuril is used to treat EPM (equine protozoal myeloencephalitis), a potentially serious disease of horses in the Americas which causes a multitude of effects that manifest in a variety of symptoms. As a treatment for coccidiosis in horses, toltrazuril works by damaging the intracellular developmental stages of coccidia without damaging the cell tissue of the host animal. It is also used as a prophylaxis to prevent coccidian in horses.
Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that has antioxidant properties that can interrupt the inflammatory process. It is used to treat a variety of equine health problems ranging from orthopedic inflammation to neurological injury.
Where to buy toltrazuril: Toltrazuril is available outside of the United States as a solution for the drinking water of poultry; it is available in the U.S. through a number of pharmaceutical manufacturers and through veterinary custom compounding companies.
A regular oral dose of Toltrazuril 250 mg/ml / DMSO 10% oral suspension by NexGen is highly effective in preventing and reducing the severity of lesions in horses with coccidial infections.
