Meloxicam is widely used in veterinary medicine, most commonly in dogs, cats and horses. Meloxicam powder by NexGen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug used in horses to relieve colic and musculoskeletal pain in horses and cattle. Meloxicam works through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, exerting anti-inflammatory, antiendotoxic, anti-exudative, analgesic and antipyretic properties. It also has preferential COX-2 inhibitory properties.
